Tape Rip.
A band we've not had at HRC before.
Maybe a little left field for some of you but I was quite into the 80's Metal, Funk Rock crossover.
I was into the Chili's earlier stuff up to Blood Sugar where this Tour comes from.
When they started to get really popular I wasn't into it for some reason.
So we head back to '92 and Italy for this show as I said it's from their breakthrough album.
From here there was no stopping their rise.
Good sound on this for those that want to (Funk) Rock out!

A couple of cool ones sent in by our buddy UFOSteve.
Cheers pal!!

Here are two demo sets by Michael Schenker
but don't think I've  seen them on HRC.

MSG-1979-In Studio Session
With Billy Sheehan on bass and Denny Carmassi on drums
and Gary Barden vocals.
Early ideas for his first solo album nice sounding stuff with a few riffs you may recognize
none of the versions made the MSG album as he used
famed session men Mo Foster, Don Airey and Simon Phillips.

MSG-Assault Attack Demos 1982
With Cozy Powell on drums and Chris Glen on bass.
Pity no Graham Bonnet vocals all instrumental tracks.
Also has  very good sound on this and some tracks that have never been used.

They Can Rock You Too

UFO offshoot band Waysted captured back in '83 in Denmark.
Supporting somebody it would seem going by the length of the set.
Iron Maiden perhaps?
The music isn't too far removed from UFO and a lot of their songs with Fin wouldn't have sounded out of place on some of those 80's UFO albums.
Very good audience recording from a fine Hard Rock band.

Another very nice audience recording here.
This time from Black Star Riders playing live in the city that never sleeps.
A good mix of their own songs and some of those Thin Lizzy classics.
I bought their cd All Hell Breaks Loose and very good it is too.
The strange thing is if they had kept the Thin Lizzy name I wouldn't have bought it.
The name change for me and them was a good move.

Back to the 80's again for some of that Big Hair Rockin'.
One of the better bands of the era, Icon.
Razor sharp Riffs,Screaming Vocals more Hard Rock than Hair Rock.
This I'm pretty sure is out of print I think it was released back in the late 90's.
Or if you can find it it costs a pretty penny.
Sound isn't steller but it's good enough.
If anybody knows for sure the availability of the cd let us know.

One of my favorite ( and Gimmeanatari's) Midwestern bands, along side of REO, Styx, MSB, ect......Nice soundboard, but a little on the bassy side -w- the guitars being low in the mix. Japan has (or was) always open to Cheap Trick before we really caught onto them here in The States due to a live disc recorded in the Land Of The Rising Sun.

Dave Meniketti, the man, the voice, and the guitar wizard from Y&T (or Y and T) going solo on this set. Good audience recording from his On The Blue Side disc. Besides doing his solo stuff, he tosses in a few Y&T tunes. The late great Phil Kennemore even makes an appearance here. The artwork isn't the greatest, but, hey who really cares when the music does the talkin'.

Lots of chatter in the CBox about this set. ufosteve and myself have been looking for this set (along with alot of others). Can't say how many emails ufosteve and I have exchanged about this disc; it was a mother to find this one! A BIG thanks goes out to HeepFreak for the original links and BFK for the artwork. Greatly appreciated on this end! As usual, the good people here at Hear Rock City step up when some of us get stumped (we're not perfect 'ya know). Short set of tunes on this one, but excellent studio quality. Why Chapman got sacked from Waysted is still a mystery to me.

This one is up due to the death of original Ramone,Tommy, passing away a couple of days ago.
That is now the four original members no longer with us.
Of course he's not on this he played on the first three albums and the live one as well.
He got fed up with the touring so he moved behind the scenes producing and managing.
30 songs on this that get straight to the point.
Verse-chorus-next.
This is from '79 and not '78 as it says on the cover.

Excellent sounding show from Rock Legends Nazareth.
With the guitar of Manny Charlton up front and centre.
Touring one of their less celebrated albums,Cinema.
I've got quite a few albums by Naz but there's a couple that have passed me by this being one of them.
Great performance and a timely reminder of what a great and original talent Dan was.

Very nice audience recording from Tom and the gang.
From the Let Me Up (I've Had Enough) Tour.
A sweet setlist from this legendary writer and performer.
A new album from them,Hypnotic Eye is due on the 28th.
By all reports it's in the style of the first couple of albums.
Sounds like it's going to be another quality release.
Can't wait for that one.

Fine stuff from Saxon back in '91.
From Motherwell,Scotland just outside Glasgow for those who take an interest.
Not a venue I'm aware of that was a stopping off point for many bands.
I could be wrong but "Hello Motherwell" just doesn't sound right.
From the Solid Ball Of Rock Tour which I thought was a pretty good album.
Saxon have managed to survive all the changes and genres in Rock
we've had over the years and are still going strong.
I've got my ticket for December.

Here's the audio from last nights webcast that you could watch live.
Kiss and Def Leppard are touring together and it seems to be a good match up doing very well together.
No surprises from Kiss but it's entertaining Rock 'n' Roll they're playing well they involve the audience and they've got an impressive stage show.
And they don't mind if you post their stuff!

A pretty good audience recording from that little ol' band from Texas.
A few songs on this I'm not familiar with.
I'm kind of sketchy with ZZ after the 80's.
Great sounds from three guys with Billy G. at the forefront with that dirty guitar sound of his.

Cheers Buddy!!

A full concert with UFO as guests for Cheap Trick in New Jersey 1978
with Paul Chapman on guitar,Schenker left five weeks earlier.
Not to return until 1993.
The UFO show is a dvd rip with a very raw sound but good, only seven songs long as they were the support band!
The Cheap Trick is an FM show from 102.7,
WNEW-FM New York, NY USA from the Heaven Tonight tour
sixteen tracks long with the guitars loud in the sound mix.
